Welcome to Synchronicity
Introduction
Synchronicity’s documentation covers the full stack from the foundational principles behind our work, to the Protostar platform that powers it, to the Synchronicity Exchange built on top of it. Use the links below to navigate to whichever part of the documentation you need.
Synchronicity
Synchronicity is a private, performant blockchain designed to be the unified liquidity layer for all of decentralized finance, and is the first Protostar deployment. Synchronicity Exchange (also on testnet), is the best financial exchange, centralized or decentralized, that has ever existed.
Financial activity has found some product market fit on existing leviathan-free networks despite major structural inefficiencies. Synchronicity resolves these issues to enable mainstream institutional adoption of DEXs and bring abundant liquidity on-chain via a universal private financial exchange.

Synchronicity Protostar
Synchronicity Protostar is a platform for private, hyper-efficient, purpose-built leviathan-free exchanges with the best experience for trading any forms of value.
Exchange is the fundamental multiparty economic activity, but the ideal forum for exchanging value is highly dependent on the form of value being exchanged (e.g., stocks vs uber rides vs music streams vs dates).
Protostar will usher in the leviathan-free economy by enabling leviathan-free competitors to Binance, Uber, Spotify, Tinder, etc. to outcompete their web2 equivalents.

Synchronicity’s Values
Both Synchronicity Protostar and Synchronicity Exchange have been meticulously designed for maximum alignment with our values given the tradeoff spaces presented by state of the art of technology and the requirement to outcompete value-misaligned competitors.
